Here you can learn more about the leathers we use, how they feel in hand, and how they change with everyday use. We work with vegetable-tanned leather from Italian tanneries, chosen for durability, character, and the way it ages over time.

Maine Troncato Leather

(Tempesti, Italy — 1.4 mm)

Tempesti Maine Troncato is a vegetable-tanned leather with a clean, natural surface and a slightly firm feel. It holds its shape well while remaining flexible enough for everyday use.

With time, this leather develops a subtle patina and deeper color, especially on areas that are handled more often. It’s a good choice if you prefer a balanced feel — structured, but not stiff.

Available colors: Agave, Lattuga, Marine, Fiesta, Jam, Papaya, Iris, Nero.

Missouri Leather

(La Perla Azzurra, Italy — 1.5 mm)

Missouri is a medium-firm, vegetable-tanned leather enriched with oils and waxes. It has a heavier, more substantial feel and a noticeable pull-up effect — the color lightens slightly when bent or handled.

Over time, Missouri develops strong character and contrast, with a richer surface and visible signs of use. It’s ideal if you enjoy leather that clearly shows wear and tells a story.

Available colors: Acorn, Bordo, Cedar, Coconut, Cobalt, Flamingo, Fern, Grape, Maroon, Navy, Onyx, Sienna, Teal.

Vegetable-tanned leather is a natural material. Color variations, marks, and changes over time are part of its character and not considered defects.

Construction details

Stitching

All items are stitched by hand using durable waxed thread.

Hand stitching creates stronger seams than machine stitching and allows the piece to age without coming apart over time.

Minor variations in stitches are part of the handmade process and add to the character of each item.

Edges

Edges are carefully finished and burnished by hand.

This process smooths and seals the leather, helping protect it from moisture and wear while keeping a clean, natural look.

With use, edges may darken slightly — this is a normal part of aging.

Pockets & Interior

Interior layouts are designed with everyday use in mind.

Pockets are sized to hold notebooks, pens, cards, or documents securely without adding unnecessary bulk.

Leather may feel firm at first and will soften naturally with use.

Straps & Closures

Straps and closures are made from the same high-quality leather as the main piece.

They are designed to hold securely while remaining flexible and comfortable to use.

Over time, straps develop creases and patina that reflect how the item is used.
